An Unremarkable Life

“Life is lived in the moments of simplicity!”
― Avijeet Das

unremarkable life

Sitting in the doldrums of an unremarkable life,
me,
my hero,
my dog
and my guide…
The weather was shuddering,
the wind howled,
unable to think deeply
of
anything profound…

Frantically dreaming
of a cruise
at sea,
existing
simply
as bourgeoisie…

Drinking tea from Mother’s
bone China cups,
seeking contentment,
no need for fuss…

Me,
my hero,
my dog,
and my guide,
just breathing out
slowly
carbon dioxide…

Gloriously Ruined…

“Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure.”
― Rumi

humans

I’ve met some humans,
crushed,
though not blind,
scarred and broken
yet unconditionally kind…

Brimming
with light
engulfed in grace
gathered by love
and worthy of embrace…

Uncluttered with pride,
humble
not vain
aglow with beauty,
acquainted with pain…

Freed from judgment
gloriously ruined
overflowing
with mercy
tenderly fluid…
