“The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye…until we meet again”
― Jimi Hendrix
Can we drag out this goodbye
just a little longer,
stretch it as far as it will go
across the great expanse of time
and turn back the clocks
Let no words pass between us,
as we stare into a distance of separation,
In the stillness of memory
the good times.
cluttered with reminders,
noisy departure lounges
I need the fragrance of this moment to linger
and echo remembrance.
“Behind your image, below your words, above your thoughts, the silence of another world waits.”― John O’Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom
on placid waters
silence is real.
of hushed appeal
“Be excessively gentle with yourself.”
― John O’Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom
What light is this
and lets my life be praise?
In silent imaginings,
I was not worthy,
till resplendent light
awakened the darkness
and touched the softest place,
where love is all I own.
“If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.”
― George Bernard Shaw, Immaturity
On long beaches,
remembrance holds dear.
Childhood reflections pool,
and draw us into family reunion,
a sense of belonging
to the sacred moments of identity.
The gloominess of cloudy days
and the spillage of glistening sunshine
pours over our wounds.
Secret vows become real,
the bone marrow of suffering exposed,
and skies rejoice,
paying homage to our soul journeys
as we move across
the never-ending sands of time!
We return to light-hearted vistas
and a sprinkling of joy in places we least expect…
my childish expectations
i count the minutes
“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.”
― Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
I have some rose colored glasses
that see through a different lens
the extravagance of nature,
and other-worldly gems!
I highly recommend them
to get one’s mind right,
to enter the mystical
and perch from dizzy heights!
